What does losing your virginity mean to you? Whether you’ve had sex or not, what kind of feelings do you associate with “the first time”?

A recent survey asked over 20,000 young people all kinds of questions about their sexual experiences and attitudes.  One of them asked, “Would you say then that this first vaginal intercourse was voluntary or not voluntary, that is, did you choose to have sex of your own free will or not?”

Imagine a world where, if you wanted birth control, you’d just go to your doctor, talk about what kind is right for you, and then they’d give it to you for free. Simple, right? Back in reality, though, things are a lot more complicated.

I recently came across this awesome video of a fashion show in Corpus Christi, Texas last year that gives a whole new meaning to wearing a condom. To highlight the importance of HIV testing, Planned Parenthood of South Texas (PPSTX) challenged local designers to create a wearable piece of clothing out of condoms they provided for free. Then they held this fun event to show off everyone’s work! The designers did a really great job. I think the black and white coat was my favorite.

Christina Aguilera’s music video for her new song “I’m not Myself Tonight” is way too much. Whatever happened to a singer wanting attention for their vocal talent, not for how well they could blur the line between a music video and pornography? Christina Aguilera has pushed the boundaries a lot throughout her career but this video takes the cake. To me, this video represents everything that is wrong with our society’s obsession with fame and reality TV; people are sacrificing themselves for any type of attention they can get.
