If your lifestyle is as fast paced as mine, then it is no surprise that remembering to take your Birth Control Pill everyday at around the exact same time can be a hassle. Although the birth control pill is one of the most common forms of Birth Control used by women, that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for the lifestyle and health needs of every woman. Other forms of birth control, like the IUD and the Implant, are highly effective, private and don’t require very much attention.
Remember that it is important to educate yourself on all of the options of birth control that are available to you. Ask yourself the following questions when considering a birth control method:
- What is it?
- Who uses it?
- How do you use it?
- How effective is it with typical use?
- Where do I get it?
- Does it protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)?
It’s safe to say that the best way to do get all of these questions answered is by making an appointment with a health professional at a local clinic. During your appointment you will learn about the pros and the cons of every method. Every person is different and what may work for some women may not work for others. But that shouldn’t discourage you from finding the best birth control method for you!
(Keep in mind that ONLY condoms protect you from unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.)
