Every April, something powerful happens in South Los Angeles—young people come together to spark real conversations, learn about accessible health information, and take charge of their sexual and reproductive health. It’s all part of Spring into Love, an annual youth-led conference that’s more than just an event.
This one of a kind conference is created by young people, for young people. Organized by youth interns who are trained in sexual and reproductive health, Spring into Love is a bold space that promotes education, empowerment, and open dialogue. The interns take on a major role—not only do they lead the planning of the event, but they also guide their peers through workshops and interactive sessions that tackle real issues that matter.
So, what can you expect at Spring into Love 2025?
Real Talk about Real Topics
From how to practice safer sex, to navigating healthy relationships, to building self-love and confidence—no topic is off limits. Workshops are designed to be engaging, inclusive, and non-judgmental, with young facilitators leading the way so conversations feel authentic and relatable. What makes Spring into Love special is that it’s led by young people who reflect the community they serve.
Free STI Testing
Knowledge is key and knowing your STI status is part of taking control of your health. The conference offers free and confidential STI and HIV testing in partnership with APLA Health and Wellness. It’s all about breaking the stigma around testing and making it easier for young people to access important services without fear or shame.
Community, Resources & Fun
You’ll also find a vibrant resource fair where you can connect with local organizations offering everything from mental health support to educational opportunities. Plus, there are raffles prizes, giveaways, and so much more—all in a welcoming and supportive environment.
In a time where it’s becoming harder to find trustworthy information—especially online—events like Spring into Love are essential. According to LA County Department of Public Health, young people of color ages 15-24 in South LA face some of the higher rates of gonorrhea and chlamydia compared to their white peers. This conference helps tackle that reality head-on by equipping youth with knowledge, tools and resources to protect themselves and their communities. It’s also about building a culture where talking openly about sexual and reproductive health isn’t taboo and becomes normalized.
If you’re a young person living in South LA, this is your invitation to show up, speak up, and level up. RSVP to Spring into Love 2025 and spend the day surrounded by energy, inspiration, and empowerment. Whether you’re looking for answers, support or just a space to connect with others—you’ll find it here. We can’t wait to see you there.
