Cuffing Season is approaching. With all of the tryouts, conditioning, and training out of the way for the season, I’m pretty sure you forgot about the most important objective for this season. It’s to begin and finish this season SAFELY which heightens the need for practicing safer sex each and every time.

Practicing safer sex will keep us from the foul zone and have us headed straight to the end zone. In order for us to make it through another successful championship season, we have to begin where it all starts: in practice. Here are some tips on how to keep you and bae safe throughout the season:

  • The key to success on and off the field? Communication! Make sure you and bae are communicating openly and honestly..including how you feel about taking things to the next level. Remember, consent is the MOST important thing to have before having sex.
  • Make sure you have the right equipment, aka CONDOMS. Just like helmets keep us safe on the field, condoms keep us safe from unintended pregnancy and STDs. And just like we want to make sure all of our equiptment fits properly on the field, we have to make sure that the condom fits just right. That might mean experimenting with different condom brands, sizes, and lube. Learn more here.
  • You'll want to make sure your teammate (bae) is also equipped with the right equipment. If you are having sex with someone of the opposite sex, make sure you are using birth control. Once both teams have their equipment on, the game can begin since you both are locked and ready.

All that’s needed next is for the coin toss and the kickoff. Let the games begin and...Hut HIKE!
