We need teens who aren’t afraid to tell it like it is when it comes to safe sex. This means everything from condoms and birth control, to STDs, pregnancy and teen rights to health care. Don’t know all the facts?! No worries! You’ll get them all and learn how to combine creativity and technology to get your message out.
TeenSource likes to cover all the bases so that teens in California can get accurate info on issues relevant to you (little bit different from your health class huh?)
As a TeenSource Multi-Media Peer Educators you will be using all sorts of online platforms from YouTube to Tumblr and Instagram. You’ll learn to create and publish content like videos, images, stories, and audio to get the message out to other teens.
TeenSource will train you during the school year and you’ll have the chance to be part of a team of peer educators throughout the state! Annnndddd did we mention the best part?? ITS PAID! That’s right, you’ll receive $1,500, get trained and have the chance to meet teens from all over California. This also means that you could put your experience on your resume as a real life job (*cough* college applications). The time commitment is flexible so you don’t have to worry about working the night before a big test or scheduling it around track practice.
So to sum it up: TeenSource wants teens who aren’t afraid to talk about sex, who like to be creative, and who want to learn while working with other teens across the state!
